Tracking Game Fish Just Got Easier with UID’s PIT Tagging Kit
In recent years, the use of Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags has surged among hobbyists, pond owners, and researchers seeking to track and monitor game fish in ponds, lakes, and private fisheries. These small, implantable microchips assign each fish a unique identification number, enabling long-term tracking of individual fish for research, conservation, or recreational purposes.
PIT Tagging System
To support this growing demand, UID has developed a streamlined and user-friendly PIT Tagging Kit, designed with both field convenience and data accuracy in mind. Each kit includes:
- URH-2 Portable Reader for scanning and identifying tagged fish fish
- 10 PIT tags* (2.1mm x 12mm) preloaded in sterile, single-use injectors
- Six barcode ID stickers per tag for fast, error-free data capture
All components are neatly organized in a portable case for easy transport and storage. The case also provides added protection against dust and other environmental conditions, making it ideal for use at lakesides, hatcheries, and field research sites.
*Additional PIT tags can be purchased separately.
