The UID mouse, programmable transponder (UC-1485) is suitable for mice and other small laboratory animals. The microchip dimensions are 1.4 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm in length. It is the smallest, programmable transponder on the market with encryption. Each microchip is supplied in an individual, sterilized cannula for use with a wide range of UID injectors. Each transponder is also supplied with a unique, non-repeating, alpha-numeric identification code that can be programmed using the UPS-60 Chip Provisioning Station. Programming of the transponder can be performed prior to implantation in the cannula, or after implantation while in the animal. The UID programmable transponders are fail-proof and do not lose their programmed information, unlike those of other microchip providers.
